COMMERCE – The No. 2 Texas A&M University-Commerce softball team faces another tough Lone Star Conference series on Sunday, hosting No. 24 Angelo State University.

RECORDS: A&M-Commerce is 20-5 overall and 13-1 in the Lone Star Conference. Angelo State is 16-9 overall and 8-6 in LSC action.
RANKINGS: A&M-Commerce is second nationally in the NFCA Division II Coaches' Poll, and Angelo State is ranked 24^th in the nation.

The Lions are ranked second nationally, tying the highest-ever national ranking for the program. North Georgia is the No. 1 team, and neither team was voted lower than second in the nation, with UNG getting 10 first place votes and A&M-Commerce getting six.

The Lions lead the nation in shutouts, with 11 blankings in 25 games, tied with Lubbock Christian. This is in large part due to a 3.88 strikeout-to-walk ratio which ranks 23rd nationally. Alyssa LeBlanc ranks fourth nationally with 106 strikeouts and her 12 wins in the circle is third in the nation behind Erskine's Hanna Houge (14) and Oklahoma Christian's Kali Crandall (13).
 
Madison Schaefer now ranks third in the LSC in batting average (.473), second in homeruns (8), second in slugging percentage (.865), and first in on-base percentage (.598). Schaefer and Kinsie Hebler are tied for the LSC lead in walks drawn with 22.
 
On the opponent…
The Rambelles rank just behind the Lions in terms of team batting average at .317, but have allowed a 4.07 ERA. They were limited to one run in the doubleheader ar UT Tyler on Friday.
 
Madison Fernandez leads the LSC with a .869 slugging percentage and Ashlyn Lerma is sixth in the league in batting average at .436. Makayla Corbin has a 3.02 ERA and allowed a .248 average against

The Rambelles have a 14-7 all-time lead in the series, with a 4-3 record over A&M-Commerce in Commerce. The Lions won all four games in 2019, and the teams did not get to play in 2020.
