INDIANAPOLIS – In the first NCAA South Central Rankings of the season, the Texas A&M University-Commerce men's basketball team is slated third.
The Lions are 16-5 this season, with 15 wins coming over in-region teams. The Lions are looking to make their first trip to the NCAA South Central Regional since 2018-19.
A&M-Commerce has two wins over teams ranked in the region. A&M-Commerce is one of six teams from the Lone Star Conference in the 10-team rankings released by the NCAA on Wednesday afternoon. The other four teams are from the other conference in the region, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
The Lions host St. Edward's on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and St. Mary's on Saturday at 4 p.m. in the final two home games of the regular season. The Lions have a trip to Angelo State, who is No. 6 in the region, next week.
