COMMERCE – Texas A&M University-Commerce softball player Sabrina Anguiano has been named the National Fastpitch Coaches Association's Louisville Slugger Player of the Week and Lone Star Conference hitter of the week on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Anguiano (Riverside, Calif.) batted 10 for 11 with one walk last week against UT Permian Basin and Western New Mexico. She had team-leading three home runs, coming in three different games, and drove in seven runs as well. She went 5 for 5 against UT Permian Basin on Sunday and had a multi-hit game in all four games. She leads the team and is eighth in the conference with a batting average of .474.
 
She is the third Lion to earn LSC Player of the Week honors this week, joining Alyssa LeBlanc and Emily Otto. Anguiano and LeBlanc have also been named National Players of the Week this year.
 
The Lions host the Embry-Riddle Eagles on Wednesday at 4 p.m., before heading on the road to Midwestern State on Friday and at Texas Woman's on Sunday.
