Since moving up to NCAA Division I and the Southland, this is the first time that the Lions are serving as hosts for a conference championship. It is the first time since that A&M-Commerce is the host site of a conference championship since the volleyball program hosted the Lone Star Conference Volleyball Tournament in 2019.

As the Lions are in the NCAA transition process, this is the final event of the season.
