A&M-Commerce reveals full 2023-24 women's basketball schedule

COMMERCE – Texas A&M University-Commerce announced the full 2023-24 women's basketball schedule on Wednesday morning.

First year coach Valerie King leads the Lions against a competitive and exciting schedule. A&M-Commerce battles against four Power Five conference opponents, including welcoming the first Power Five Conference program to Commerce in school history.

The Lions begin a new era by hosting LeTourneau on November 6 and host UNT-Dallas on November 10. For the first road trip of the season, the Lions make the return trip to New Mexico on November 17, after facing off against the Lobos in the Field House in 2022-23, and making the first ever regular season trip to Texas Tech on November 17.

Before heading out west, the Lions host Utah Tech on November 20. On November 29, A&M-Commerce faces Washington State, who won the PAC-12 Tournament last season and competed in the NCAA Tournament, and goes across the Washington-Idaho border to face Idaho on December 1. The Lions beat the Vandals in Commerce last season.

To kick-off the month of December, A&M-Commerce opens an electrifying three-game home stand, facing 2023 NCAA Tournament participant Southern Utah on December 5, new Big XII conference member Houston on December 8, and Champion Christian on December 18.

The match up against Houston is a rematch from last season and marks the first time that a sitting Power Five conference opponent plays a regular season game in Commerce.

The Lions close out the regular season on New Year's Eve in College Station against Texas A&M, which is the first regular season contest between the two A&M system schools.

The Southland Conference schedule for 2023-24 was announced earlier this month and remains the same.

The Lions start SLC play on the road at New Orleans on January 4, before hosting McNeese (January 6), UIW (January 11), and Houston Christian (January 13) for the first conference homestand.

A trip to Lamar (January 18) and Southeastern (January 20) is followed by home games against A&M-Corpus Christi (January 25) and Nicholls (January 27).

The month of February begins with road games at McNeese (February 1) and Northwestern State (February 3), followed by home games against Southeastern (February 8) and New Orleans (February 10).

The Lions continue conference play with a road trip to UIW (February 15), A&M-Corpus Christi (February 17), and Nicholls (February 24). Lamar comes to the Field House on February 29 and the Lions head to HCU on March 2 for the final road game of the regular season, which closes out at home against Northwestern State on March 6.

The SLC Tournament is once again in Lake Charles, Louisiana, hosted in the Legacy Center on March 11-14.
