FRISCO – East Texas A&M University quarterback Ron Peace has been named the Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after driving the football team to a 41-40 win over HCU last Saturday.

Peace (Malakoff) has earned the honor second time this season. In Saturday's win over HCU, he threw for 400 yards and four touchdowns, including the game-winner in the final minute of the game.

He was 40 for 65 passing in the game, which are the third most completions in a game in program history.

This is the second straight week that East Texas A&M won a weekly honor as Brandon Tucker (DeSoto) was named the defensive player of the week last Monday. The Lions are up to three weekly honors this season, which are the most in any season since joining the SLC.

The Lions, who have won two in a row, host nationally ranked UIW at 1 p.m. on Saturday for Senior Day. Tickets can be purchased at LionAthletics.com/tickets.
