BOULDER, Colo. – Kiara Brown set two school records for the Texas A&M University-Commerce track & field team on Saturday at the Colorado Invitational inside the UC Indoor Practice Facility.
After just two meets this season, Brown (Dallas – Carter) now holds the school record in the 60, 200, and 300 meter dash, breaking her own school record on Saturday in the 200 meter dash.

WOMEN
Brown punched her ticket into the finals with a time of 7.46 seconds and ran a time of 7.37 seconds in the finals for the win. Her official time was 7.39 seconds, adjusted for altitude, which is .14 seconds faster than any other runner in school history, breaking Ebony Coby's record of 7.53 seconds, which has stood since February 17, 2019. Brown's time leads the Southland Conference.
Leah Pettis (McKinney – North) finished second in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.59 seconds. Brown and Pettis went 1-2 in the 200 meter dash as well, with Brown racing to a time of 23.44 seconds and Pettis clocking in at 24.36 seconds.
Bre'Anna Lacy (Waxahachie Life) timed 26.21 seconds for eighth.
Adjusted for altitude, Brown's official time was 23.51 seconds, which is the fastest in the Southland, 39
th in NCAA Division I, and breaks her own school record of 24.10 seconds that she set on February 21, 2020.
Oriana Gee (Cy-Fair) raced to a time of 57.29 seconds for seventh in the 400 meter dash. Brown, Pettis, Gee, and
Cece Charles (Sauteurs, Granada) placed second in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:05.35.
The Lions placed four in the top eight of the 60 meter hurdles finals. Lacy timed 9.28 seconds for fourth,
Magdaline Campo (Haiti) finished fifth with a time of 9.32 seconds,
Charidee Morgan (Cedar Hill) timed 9.66 seconds for seventh, and
Analice Pursley (Georgetown Eastview) was eighth with a time of 11.17 seconds.
MEN
Ibrahim Fuseini (Accra, Ghana) won the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.03 seconds, which is now the fastest in the Southland Conference and top 50 in the country.
Eddie Barrientes (Fort Worth – Chisholm Trail) was seventh, clocking in at 22.44 seconds.
In the 60 meter hurdles,
Zayden Davis (Colorado Springs, Colo.) ran a time of 8.09 seconds in the finals for third place, after clocking in at 8.22 seconds in the prelims.
Jordan Johnson (Gauteng, South Africa) made finals and finished seventh with a time of 8.37 seconds.
Three Lions qualified for the finals in the 60 meter dash, with A&M-Commerce going 2-3-4 in the final.
Oguz Uyar (Turkey) finished just 0.006 seconds behind Colorado State's Tyler Colwell. Uyar timed 6.718 seconds, while Colwell timed 6.712.
Kingsley Ayebide (Sapele, Nigeria) finished third at 6.76 seconds, and
Tyke Owens (Lebanon Trail) timed 6.78 seconds for fourth.
The Lion men closed out the meet with Barrientes, Uyar, Fuseini, and
Enoch Fosuhene (Accra, Ghana) taking third in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:18.74. That time is second in the Southland thus far this season.

The Lions are slated to compete in two meets next weekend: the Tyson Invitational on Friday-Saturday in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and the Howie Ryan Invitational on Friday at Houston.
