AUSTIN – East Texas A&M University decathlete
Jonas Gran is in seventh place after the first day of the Texas Relays at the Mike A. Myers Stadium.
Gran (Riehen, Switzerland) scored 3,856 points through the first five events. He was the lone Lion to compete on Wednesday.
The day began with a time of 10.93 seconds in the 100 meter dash, which was seventh among the 15 competitors. He then had a mark of 22-9.75 (6.95m) for 10
th in the long jump and placed fifth in the shot put with a mark of 42-11.75 (13.10m).
Gran closed out the day by clearing 5-11.25 (1.81m) for 13
th in the high jump and finished third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 48.83 seconds. Iowa's Sal Capaldo is the leader with 4,016 points.
