AUSTIN and
SAN MARCOS – Two East Texas A&M University track and field school records fell on Thursday as the Lions took part in both the Texas Relays and the Bobcat Invitational.
TEXAS RELAYS
Jonas Gran (Riehen, Switzerland) ended the decathlon, finishing fourth with 7,302 points.
On Thursday, he timed 16.22 seconds in the 110 meter hurdles, had a mark of 114-10 (35.0m) in the discus, cleared 14-5.25 (4.40m) in the pole vault, had a career-best mark of 203-10 (62.14m) in the javelin, which was the top mark on Thursday, and ended the meet with a time of 4:41.20 in the 1,500 meter run, which was third among all competitors.
Sanae Hassnaoui (Midelt, Morocco) came in second in the 1,500 meter run with a school-record time of 4:25.21.
Anete Randma (Tallinn, Estonia), who held the school record previously, timed 4:38.88 for eighth on Thursday.
In the men's 400 meter hurdles prelims,
Cheyne West (Rochester, England) punched his ticket to the finals with a time of 51.32 seconds, breaking a 31-year-old school record held by Lamonte Lee, who raced to a time of 51.94 seconds on May 9, 1995, in Abilene.

BOBCAT INVITATIONAL
The action in San Marcos began on Thursday.
Romi Griese (Salzkotten, Germany) placed second in the 'A' section of the women's discus with a mark of 165-5 (50.42m).
Jeyden Coleman (Humble – Summer Creek) had a mark of 155-11 (47.54m) for fifth in the 'B' section of the men's discus.
Parker Williams (Decatur) cleared career-best 15-11 (4.85m) for seventh in the 'B' section of the men's pole vault.
In the 'B' section of the men's long jump,
Joseph Rolland (Wills Point) had a mark of 23-8 (7.21m) for seventh.
Over on the track,
Sandy Sakyi (Bremen, Germany) timed 14.10 seconds for fifth in the women's 100 meter hurdles. West started his day by finishing sixth in the 'B' section of the men's 110 meter hurdles in San Marcos, clocking in at 14.35 seconds.
Mackenzie Giles (Allen) finished fifth in the 'B' section of the women's 100 meter dash with a time of 12.04 seconds and took seventh in the 'B' section of the 200 meter dash, timing 24.73 seconds.
Samarah Green (Abilene – Cooper) clocked in at 58.865 seconds for fifth in the 'B' section of the women's 400 meter dash.
To round out the day,
Myles Redding (Waco – University) finished fourth in the men's 800 meter run with a time of 1:50.69.
Edith Martinez (Sulphur Springs),
Haleigh Risner (Winnsboro), and
Riley Roberts (Bullard) went 4-6-8 in the women's 5,000 meter run with times of 18:43.03, 19:07.55, and 19.16.87, respectively.
Jeremiah Garcia (Northwest Eaton) clocked in at 14:45.99 for third in the men's 5,000 meter run.
