COMMERCE – The Texas A&M University-Commerce soccer team picked up a 4-0 win over Texas Woman's on Friday night at the Lion Soccer Field in the first home match of the spring.
The first goal of the match was scored by
Hannah Bell (Duncanville) in the first half, assisted by
Kristen Sueltz (The Colony), while the A&M-Commerce added three goals in the second half.
Mindy Shoffit (Wichita Falls) added the second goal, scoring from 40-yards out and
Savannah Powell (Arlington – Martin) scored twice as well.
Nia Chacon (Rowlett – Sachse) had the assist on both goals by Powell.
"Excited to be back at home for a spring game. We were a bit slow coming out in the first half," said coach
Ashley Gordon. "Defending was better in the second half which led to a number of opportunities and goals. We will continue improving this spring."
The Lions are next in action at DBU on March 23.
