SAN ANTONIO – The Texas A&M University-Commerce football team is set to kick off preparations for the 2024 season at the Southland Football Opening Drive on July 21-22 in San Antonio at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.
 
A&M-Commerce will be represented by coach Clint Dolezel as well as offensive lineman Jadin Jones and linebacker Brandon Tucker Jr.
 
The trio will take part in meetings with their counterparts in the SLC, as well as going through a creative content "car-wash", and interacting with local, regional, and national media on Monday.
 
The Southland Football Opening Drive will be broadcasted on ESPN+ on Monday. The one-of-its-kind broadcast will feature statements, quotes, and interviews from all 10 head coaches and student-athletes, including the debut of new members Stephen F. Austin and UTRGV.
 
The Lions are slated to appear on the broadcast at 11:15 a.m. The broadcast on ESPN+ can be watched HERE.
 
The 2024 Southland Conference football preseason all-conference team and the preseason poll will be released on Monday as well. More information on the Southland Football Opening Drive can be found HERE.
 
All Lion fans in the San Antonio area can meet Dolezel, Tucker Jr., and Jones as well as other Lion head coaches on Monday night at The Yardhouse in San Antonio, starting at 5:30 p.m.

The Lion football team is entering its third season in NCAA Division I and the Southland Conference in 2024. A&M-Commerce is scheduled to play a 12-game schedule, which includes six games at home. The Lions' preseason preview can be found HERE.
 
The season begins on National Television at San Diego State on August 31, being broadcasted on truTV, while the first home game is on September 14 against Grambling.
