MIAMI and
MINNEAPOLIS – Two Texas A&M University-Commerce Lions are on active NFL rosters this regular season as
Levi Drake Rodriguez officially made the 53-man roster for the Minnesota Vikings, joining Kader Kohou in the NFL.
Rodriguez appeared in all three games this preseason, totaling five tackles, including a sack against the Las Vegas Raiders. He also had two passes deflected this preseason after being drafted by the Vikings in the sixth round earlier this year.
By making the Vikings roster, Rodriguez looks to become the fourth Lion to appear in a regular season game for the Vikings, joining former Lion greats Autry Beamon, Wade Wilson, and Antonio Wilson.
Kohou enters his third season with the Miami Dolphins this fall. The defensive back appeared in just one game this preseason, recording four tackles against the Washington Commanders. Kohou has appeared in 32 games over the last two seasons.
Rodriguez looks to make his regular season debut on September 8 at the New York Giants, while Kohou and the Dolphins begin the season at home on September 8 as well, hosting the Jacksonville Jaguars. Both games kick-off at noon central.
This season marks the first time since 2002 that two former Lions are on active NFL rosters during the season. Antonio Wilson played for the Vikings in 2002 and Kevin Mathis was with the Atlanta Falcons.
