LOS ANGELES – Texas A&M University-Commerce football legend Luis Perez is back in the National Football League after signing with the Los Angeles Chargers.
Perez is back in an NFL training camp after being a part of the Arlington Renegades of the United Football League. The Renegades won the XFL championship a year ago.
Since leading the Lions to the 2017 National Championship and winning the Harlon Hill Trophy, Perez has had stops with the Los Angeles Rams, Philadelphia Eagles, the Alliance of American Football (AAF), the XFL, the USFL, and the UFL.
Perez joins the Chargers during training camp, who are coached by Jim Harbaugh. He is now the third former Lion to land on an NFL training camp roster this summer, joining Kader Kohou with the Miami Dolphins and
Levi Drake Rodriguez with the Minnesota Vikings.
The first preseason game for the Chargers is on Saturday at 6:05 p.m. central against the Seattle Seahawks.
