COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M University-Commerce cross country teams took part in the Texas A&M Invitational on Friday morning at the Watts Cross Country course, with the Lion men taking 13
th and the women placing 15
th.
"Today we had another early season test against some of the best teams in the south central region. We've been dealing with some unfortunate sickness to several of our key performers, and we are excited to have them back in our lineup at Arkansas in two weeks," said coach

Alex Speer (Robinson) timed 24:44.5 for 38
th overall and 36
th in the point total.
Casey Novelo (Beford – Trinity) followed, finishing 50
th with a time of 24:56.0 in the eight-kilometer race, while
Josh Shanahan (Noosaville, Australia) clocked in at 25:40.2 for 79
th.
Jeremiah Garcia (Northwest Eaton) finished 89
th with a time of 26:05.3 and
Noah Fernandez (San Antonio Central Catholic) timed 26:12.8 for 91
st,
Abel Solorio (Cumberland Academy) timed 27:27.9 for 115
th and
Taylor Warrick (Stockdale) recorded a time of 27;49.4 for 120
th.

On the women's side,
Haleigh Risner (Winnsboro) timed 19:14.8 for 79
th, followed by
Mareva Heck (Marseille, France) in 120
th place with a time of 20:05.5,
Riley Roberts (Bullard) took 134
th with a time of 20:40.1 and
Adalyn Kobs (Lindale) clocked in at 21:58.7 for 144
th place.
Oriana Gee (Cy-Lakes) rounded out the Lions with a time of 24:18.3.

Alex Speer and
Casey Novelo for our men. We are excited to get back to Commerce and get back to work. Forty-nine days to conference championships and we are excited about the progress we are making."
