ARLINGTON – Anete Randma finished fourth in her season debut as the East Texas A&M University cross country teams took part in the Gerald Richey Invitational on Friday with the women taking third place and men placing fourth.
Friday was the first competition of the season for the Lion women, while the second for the Lion men. Randma (Tallinn, Estonia) clocked in at 17:34.1, followed by
Kaat De Staercke (Zemst, Belgium) finished ninth with a time of 18:08.3 in the five-kilometer race.
Edith Martinez (Sulphur Springs) timed 19:16.1 for 27
th,
Hannah Stuart (Canyon) clocked in at 19:49.4 for 34
th, and
Riley Roberts (Bullard) had a time of 21:16.4 for 46
th.
The Lion women's team score of 83 was behind 32 from DBU and 37 from UT Arlington.
For the Lion men,
Ricky Santos (Keene) was the top finisher, clocking in at 15:15.4 for 26
th,
Christian James (Rosharon – Manvel) had a time of 16:19.7 for 34
th,
Andrew Crosby (McKinney Boyd) took 40
th with a time of 16:27.9 and
Noah Converse (The Colony) had a time of 16:36.5 for 47
th.
UT Arlington won its home meet with a score of 27 points, followed by Abilene Christian in second place with 50 points as well as DBU. The Lions scored 105 points.
