FRISCO – Four East Texas A&M University soccer players have been named to all-Southland Conference teams on Monday morning, marking the second straight year that the Lions had four all-conference honorees.
For the Lions, forward
Hannah Bell (Duncanville) is named to the first team, while forward
Mya Mitchell (Dallas – Mesquite Horn), midfielder
Alana Lawless-Felarca (Dallas – Richardson), and defender
Malaya Ring (Dana Point, Calif.) are named to the second team.
The Lions went 7-7-4 on the season and 4-2-4 in Southland conference action to take fourth place in the standings. East Texas A&M faces fifth seeded HCU on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the first round of the Southland Tournament in Beaumont.
Bell is named to the all-Southland team for the third straight year. The 2023 SLC Freshman and Forward of the Year was named to the first team in 2023 and the second team last season. This season, Bell totaled four goals and three assists, while delivering the match-winning goal against Grambling.
Mitchell returns to the all-conference team for the first time since 2022, having been named the SLC Freshman of the Year, SLC Forward of the Year, and second team all-Southland that year. In 2025, Mitchell tallied seven goals and three assists, being fourth in the SLC for goals. She delivered the match-winning goal against Little Rock, Abilene Christian, and at Southeastern.
Lawless-Felarca is named to the all-Southland team for the first time in her career. She started 17 matches in the midfield for the Lions, totaling three goals and three assists. Lawless-Felarca scored two goals on the road at Lamar to help the Lions earn a tie and she was named the SLC Offensive Player of the Week following that match.
Ring is also a first team all-conference honoree. She appeared in 16 matches for the Lions and started nine. She was part of four shutouts for the Lions, who finished third in the SLC in overall goals-against average. Ring was named the SLC Defensive Player of the Week after the 1-0 win over UTRGV in which she had the assist on the match-winning goal.
The Lions have had at least four all-conference honorees in each of the four seasons since moving up to NCAA Division I and the Southland Conference.
