HOUSTON – Three school records fell for the East Texas A&M University track and field team on Thursday at the Carl Lewis International Complex as the Lions began outdoor season at the Kirk Baptiste Invitational.
Anete Randma (Tallinn, Estonia) set the school record in the 1,500 meter run,
Riley Roberts (Bullard) set the school record in the 3,000 meter run, and
Romi Griese (Salzkotten, Germany) set the school record in the women's discus.

WOMEN
Randma won the 1,500 meter run with a time of 4:37.70, breaking a 39-year old school record of Angela Chadwick, who ran a time of 4:42.40 on April 27, 1985.
The day on the track began with the 4x100 meter relay team of
Savannah Harvey (Shawnee, Kan.),
Hailey Ayers (Cy Ranch),
Sydnee Wilson (Lewisville), and
Valentine Mesas (Divonne-les-Bains, France) clocking in at 45.92 seconds for second.
In the 100 meter dash, Wilson timed 11.94 seconds for fifth and Harvey was sixth with a time of 11.95 seconds.
Mareva Heck (Marseilles, France) took sixth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:36.05.
Roane Lion (Georgetown – East View) clocked in at 24.94 seconds for sixth in the 200 meter dash.
Roberts finished the 3,000 meter run with a time of 10:43.52 to break Brandi Stalder's school record of 11:08.79, set on March 17, 2017.
Haleigh Risner (Winnsboro) clocked in at 11:02.37 for 10
th in the race as well.
In the discus, Griese threw 165-0 (50.31m) for third, which also set a new school record breaking Anitial'a Robins' record of 50.14m, which was set on May 5, 2018. She was also fourth in the javelin, throwing a mark of 120-05 (36.71m).
Cassandra Rendon (San Antonio – Madison) took fourth with a mark of 157-03 (47.93m) in the discus and placed fifth in the shot put with a mark of 40-10.25 (12.45m).
MEN
The 4x100 meter relay squad of
Oguz Uyar (Cannakele, Turkey),
Kingsley Ayebide (Sapele, Nigeria),
Tyke Owens (Lebanon Trail), and
Kordarion Smith (Mexia – Lancaster) timed 40.38 seconds for third. Smith took eighth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.59 seconds.
Nicholas Deutsch (Frisco) clocked in at 3:55.06 for fifth in the 1,500 meter run, while
Cash Goodman (Blue Ridge) timed 14.99 seconds for 10
th in the 110 meter hurdles and
Evan Ealy (Klein Collins) finished 11
th with a time of 15.13 seconds.
Enoch Fosuhene (Accra, Ghana) timed 48.11 seconds for fourth in the 400 meter dash. In the 200 meter dash,
Armani Modeste (Castries, Saint Lucia) clocked in at 21.29 seconds for third in the 200 meter dash.
The Lions went 1-2-3-4-7 in the 3,000 meter run as
Josh Shanahan (Noosaville, Australia) won the race with a time of 8:29.03,
Casey Novelo (Bedford – Trinity) came in second, timing 8:41.37,
Yosef Abdulrazeq (Mansfield Legacy) timed 8:59.22 for third,
Taylor Warrick (Stockdale) took fourth with a time of 9:03.53, and
Colten Van Voorhis (Prosper – Rock Hill) timed 9:25.47 for seventh.
In the final race of the day,
Myles Redding (Waco – University),
Jedadiah Stockton (Humble), Modeste, and Uyar clocked in at 3:13.39 in the 4x400 meter relay for third and the 'B' team of
Eddie Barrientes (Fort Worth – Timber Creek),
Connor Stockerl (The Woodlands),
Christian James (Manvel), and
Hope Tomabari Nagbi (Lewe Gokana, Nigeria) timed 3:18.64 for fourth.
Jonas Gran (Riehen, Switzerland) and
Joshua Kommer (Balingen, Germany) finished atop the javelin with marks of 183-11 (56.06m) and 176-05 (53.77m), respectively.
Cedric Johnson (Naples – Paul Pewitt) took fifth in the long jump with a mark of 24-0.25 (7.32m). Gran jumped 22-0.75 (6.72m) for eighth.
Sebastian Yervasi (Bishop Lynch) took 11
th in the discus with a mark of 121-07 (37.07m).
