Deutsch, Kramarenko highlight Lions' performance in 44 Farms Invitational

COLLEGE STATION – Nicholas Deutsch won the 3,000 meter steeplechase and Veronika Kramarenko placed second in the high jump to highlight the East Texas A&M University track and field teams on Saturday at the 44 Farms Team Invitational at Cushing Stadium.

"I am really happy with the performances this weekend overall and it is another step in the right direction for our program," said George Pincock. "We saw some good performances across the board and a lot of personal bests along the way. Some of the highlights are Enoch in the 200 meter dash on Friday, another good high jump competition from Veronika. Just trying to keep things moving forward as we enter the back-half of our season." 
 
WOMEN
Roane Lion (Georgetown – East View) timed 55.99 seconds for 21st in the 400 meter dash, Oriana Gee (Cy-Fair) finished 30th with a time of 56.66 seconds, and Cece Charles (Morne Fendue St.Patrick, Grenada) clocked in at 57.29 seconds for 33rd.
 
In the 100 meter dash, Kiara Brown (Dallas – Carter) took 19th with a time of 11.68 seconds and Anayah Copeland (Copperas Cove) clocked in at 12.07 seconds for 39th.
 
Over in the field events, Dejah Fuller (Waxahachie Life) jumped 38-6.75 (11.75m) for 15th in the triple jump and Blessing Samuel (Ghana) took 18th with a mark of 38-2.25 (11.64m).
 
Romi Griese (Salzkotten, Germany) threw 164-8 (50.20m) for 19th in the discus and Cassandra Rendon (San Antonio – Madison) placed 23rd with a mark of 157-4 (47.96m).
 
Veronika Kramarenko (Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine) cleared 5-9.75 (1.77m) for second in the high jump. Tina Samson (Benin, Nigeria) threw 113-8 (34.66m) for 27th in the javelin.
 
MEN
Nicholas Deutsch (Frisco) won the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:26.52, while Noah Fernandez (San Antonio Central Catholic) ran a personal best time of 9:43.28 for fourth, Yosef Abdulrazeq (Mansfield Legacy) clocked in at 9:50.13 for sixth, also a new personal best, and Taylor Warrick (Stockdale) timed 9:58.78 for seventh, also a personal best.
 
Cash Goodman (Blue Ridge) and Evan Ealy (Klein Collins) went 32-33 in the 110 meter hurdles with times of 14.85 seconds and 14.92 seconds, respectively. Armani Modeste (Castries, Saint Lucia) finished 21st with a time of 47.45 seconds in the 400 meter dash.
 
In the 100 meter dash, Enoch Fosuhene (Accra, Ghana) clocked in at 10.31 seconds for 12th, while Kordarion Smith (Mexia – Lancaster) timed 10.55 seconds for 31st and Kingsley Ayebide (Sapele, Nigeria) timed 10.57 seconds for 33rd.  
 
The day on the track closed out with the 4x400 meter relay team clocking in at 3:12.00 for 13th.
 
UP NEXT
The Lions head to California to compete in five meets in three days beginning with the Pacific Coast Invitational in Long Beach and the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa on Thursday.
