SAN ANGELO – Both the East Texas A&M University men's and women's track and field teams took third place at the David Noble Relays, hosted this weekend at LeGrand Stadium.
The hosts, Angelo State, won the meet on both the men's and women's side, while DBU took second on the men's side and Midwestern State was second on the women's side. The Lion totaled 118.50 points for third and the Lion women posted 89 points for third.
MEN
The 4x100 meter relay squad of
Tyke Owens (Lebanon Trail),
Enoch Fosuhene (Accra, Ghana),
Oguz Uyar (Cannakele, Turkey), and
Ibrahim Fuseini (Accra, Ghana) came out victorious with a time of 39.68 seconds.
Yosef Abdulrazeq (Mansfield – Legacy) finished fourth in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 4:15.77.
Cash Goodman (Blue Ridge) won the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.74 seconds, followed by
Evan Ealy (Klein Collins) in second with a time of 14.94 seconds, and
RJ Fannin (Princeton) in fourth with a time of 15.41 seconds.
In the 400 meter dash,
Armani Modeste (Castries, Saint Lucia) clocked in at 48.40 seconds for third and
Jedadiah Stockton (Houston – Humble) took sixth with a time of 49.34 seconds. Fosuhene took second with a time of 10.36 seconds in the 100 meter dash.
Christian James (Rosharon – Manvel) finished seventh with a time of 1:58.20 in the 800 meter run and
Noah Fernandez (San Antonio Central Catholic) took eight with a time of 1:58.31. Ealy took third in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 57.10 seconds.
To close out the day on the track for the Lions,
Glenn Parker Jr. (Texas City) finished fifth with a time of 22.53 seconds.
Joshua Kommer (Balingen, Germany) won the javelin with a mark of 153-10 (46.88m) while
Isaiah Choice (Lancaster) cleared 6-2.75 (1.90m) for third in the high jump.
WOMEN
The day on the track began with the 4x100 meter relay squad of
Anayah Copeland (Copperas Cove),
Savannah Harvey (Shawnee, Kan.),
Kiara Brown (Dallas – Carter), and
Leah Pettis (McKinney North) winning the race with a time of 46.64 seconds.
Bre'Anna Lacy (Waxahachie Life) clocked in at 15.33 seconds for eighth in the 100 meter hurdles. Brown, Pettis, and Copeland went 2-3-4 in the 100 meter dash with times of 11.95 seconds, 12.02 seconds, and 12.10 seconds, respectively.
Two Lions scored in the 400 meter hurdles as
Kayla Effiong (DeSoto) finished seventh with 1:05.79 and
Analice Pursley (Eastview) timed 1:06.21 for eighth.
Valentine Mesas (Divonne-les-Bains, France) took fifth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.59 seconds.
In the women's discus,
Romi Griese (Salzkotten, Germany) and
Cassandra Rendon (San Antonio – Madison) went 2-3 with marks of 161-3 (49.14m) and 151-10 (46.29m), respectively.
