COMMERCE – The East Texas A&M University soccer team has announced its full 2025 schedule on Wednesday, which features 10 regular season home matches at the Lion Soccer Field.
The Lions are coming off an appearance in the Southland Conference Tournament Championship match, appearing in the title match twice in the last three years and are the only program in the SLC to finish in the top three in each of the past three seasons.
The home slate for the Lions includes a matchup against Oklahoma State, which is the first Power Four conference opponent to visit Lion Soccer Field in the Division I era. The Cowgirls also appeared in the NCAA Tournament last season.
"We're thrilled for what's shaping up to be an exciting fall season. Our non-conference schedule is packed with strong competition that will test us early and help us grow as a team. It's exactly the kind of preparation we need to be ready for the battles ahead in the Southland Conference," said coach
Ashley Gordon, who is entering her fourth season at the helm of the Lion soccer program.
Prior to beginning the regular season, East Texas A&M hosts Seminole State and Navarro College for exhibition matches on August 7 and August 9, respectively. Both matches are set for a 7 p.m. kick-off and admission is free for both matches.
The regular season begins at 7 p.m. on August 14 against Little Rock at the Lion Soccer Field, marking the third straight season that the Lions begin the season at home.
The following weekend, East Texas A&M plays at Oklahoma on August 21 and at Oral Roberts on August 23. The Lions are playing the Sooners for the first time, while facing the Golden Eagles for the fourth season in a row, with both teams being 1-1-1 in the previous three meetings.
The Lions then open up a three-match home stand, welcoming Grambling (August 28), Abilene Christian (August 31), and Tulsa (September 4). The final non-conference road match comes at UTSA on September 7 as the two teams play for the third time in four years.
The match against Oklahoma State on September 11 at the Lion Soccer Field is the final non-conference home match of the season.
The Southland Conference schedule for East Texas A&M remains the same as announced last month. The Lions face Lamar (Sept. 18), McNeese (Sept. 25), A&M-Corpus Christi (Oct. 5), SFA (Oct. 9), and Southeastern (Oct. 19) on the road and host UIW (Sept. 28), Nicholls (Oct. 2), Northwestern State (Oct. 12), UTRGV (Oct. 23), and HCU (Oct. 30).
Season ticket and single match ticket information for the 2025 season will be released in the coming weeks.
