ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Oguz Uyar broke his own Turkish national record in the 200 meter dash for the East Texas A&M University track and field team to highlight Friday's action at the New Mexico Team Open at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

MEN
Uyar (Canakkale, Turkey) had the fastest time in the 200 meter dash, timing 20.81 seconds. His time was 0.09 seconds shy of the school record but broke his own Turkish national record, having recorded a time of 20.94 seconds last season.
Enoch Fosuhene (Accra, Ghana) took third with a time of 21.02 seconds.
Calen Jones (Duncanville) won the high jump as he was the only jumper to clear 6-8.75 (2.05m).
Collin Lusk (Fort Worth – Chisholm Trail) and
Jean Duparay (Servian, France) had the best placements for the Lions in the long jump, both recording matching marks of 22-5 (6.83m) to tie for 11
th.
Elsewhere on the track,
Josh Shanahan (Noosaville, Australia) timed 9:18.0 for 10
th in the 3,000 meter run. Two Lions finished in the top 11 of the 600 meter run with
Christian James (Rosharon – Manvel) timing 1:21.34 for sixth and
Noah Fernandez (San Antonio Central Catholic) clocking in at 1:22.48 for 11
th.
WOMEN
In the unseeded 200 meter dash,
Niamh Le'Gall (Wallasey, England) finished fifth with a time of 24.27 seconds.
Tina Samson (Benin, Nigeria) jumped 18-2.5 (5.55m) for 12
th in the long jump.
