ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Two school records fell on Saturday as well one event win was recorded by the East Texas A&M University track and field team to close out the New Mexico Team Open at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
WOMEN
Peyton Berry (Argyle) cleared 12-11.75 (3.96m) for the top mark in the pole vault, while Kira Van Den Ham (Bunnik, The Netherlands) cleared 12-0 (3.66m) to tie for fifth.
On the track,
Mackenzie Giles (Allen) tied for 11
th in the unseeded section of the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.82 seconds.
Anete Randma (Tallinn, Estonia) broke own her school record in the one-mile run, finishing fifth with a time of 4:57.68, adjusted for altitude, her time is 4:51.20. She also took 12
th in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:15.22.
Amara Idinna (Viry-Châtillon, France) came in second in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.39 seconds. Adjusted for altitude, her official time of 8.41 seconds breaks an eight-year-old school record of 8.54 seconds, which was set by Julia Seigerroth in 2018.
MEN
Jonas Gran (Riehen, Switzerland) came in 10
th in the pole vault, clearing 14-4 (4.37m), while
Cannon Samples (The Colony) took 11
th by clearing 13-10 (4.22m).
Jeyden Coleman (Humble – Summer Creek) placed eighth in the shot put, throwing 48-10.75 (14.90m).
In the 60 meter hurdles,
Cheyne West (Rochester, England) qualified for the finals and took fourth with a time of 8.06 seconds.
Myles Redding (Waco – University) raced to a time of 1:52.06 for third in the 800 meter run.
