FRISCO – The East Texas A&M University softball team has learned of its Southland Conference schedule for the 2027 season on Thursday morning.
 
Under the direction of first-year coach Rodney DeLong, the Lions play nine three-game series against the other Southland softball programs. The top eight teams following the regular season in the standings advance to the Southland Tournament.
 
The Lions begin conference play against HCU in Houston on March 12-13, followed by the first home conference series against Northwestern State on March 19-20. The Lions are 4-2 against the Demons in Commerce.
 
A trip to the defending conference champion and NCAA Regionals participant, Southeastern, is next on March 26-27, followed by welcoming Nicholls at home on April 2-3, which begins a stretch of three of four series at home.
 
The lone series on the road during the stretch comes at defending conference tournament champion and NCAA Regionals participant, McNeese, for a mid-week series on April 6-7.
 
The homestand begins against SFA on April 9-10 and then A&M-Corpus Christi comes to Northeast Texas on April 16-17. The final road series of the regular season is at Lamar on April 23-24.
 
Conference play closes out at home against UIW on April 30-May 1. The eight-team Southland Tournament begins with bracket-play on May 6-8, followed by the Championship Series on May 13-15.
 
The winner of the Southland tournament advances to the NCAA Regionals, which begin on May 21, and the Women's College World Series begins in Oklahoma City on June 3.
