Jacobie takes 16th at the NCAA Division I Indoor National Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – East Texas A&M University women's track and field high jumper Jenneil Jacobie finished 16th at the NCAA Division I Indoor National Championships on Saturday afternoon at the Randal Tyson Track Center.

Jacobie (Piat Grand Rivière, Saint Lucia) became the first ever participant at a NCAA National Championship event from East Texas A&M in the Division I era, being among the top 16 high jumpers in the country coming into the meet and was one of just two competitors across all events from the Southland Conference to qualify for this year's Indoor National Championships.

The opening bar was set at 5-8.75 (1.75) on Saturday. Jacobie cleared the height on her second attempt, but did not clear the next height, which was 5-10.75 (1.80m). Texas Tech's Temitope Adeshina was crowned the national champion, clearing 6-5.5 (1.97m).

The full results of the high jump can be found HERE.

The Lions begin outdoor season next weekend at the TCU Alumni Invite in Fort Worth on Friday-Saturday.
