Lions record three top 10 DI marks, a school record on Friday at Texas Relays, Bobcat Invitational

AUSTIN and SAN MARCOS – Three top 10 marks in the country and a school record was set by the East Texas A&M University track and field team on Friday at the Texas Relays and the Bobcat Invitational.
 
BOBCAT INVITATIONAL
Calen Jones (Duncanville) cleared 6-11 (2.11m) for sixth in the men's high jump. On the women's side, Jenneil Jacobie (Piat Grand Rivière, Saint Lucia) cleared 5-9.25 (1.76m) for second.
 
Jammel Ward (Royse City) had the top mark of 25-5.25 (7.75m) in the men's long jump, which also now puts him top five in the country. Evelyn Cortes (Bogotá, Colombia) took eighth in the 'B' section of the women's shot put with a mark of 38-2.75 (11.65m). Peyton Berry (Argyle) cleared 12-9.50 (3.90m) for ninth in the pole vault.
 
In the events on the track, Niamh Le'Gall (Wallasey, England) timed 23.56 seconds for fourth in the women's 200 meter dash. Enoch Fosuhene (Accra, Ghana) clocked in at 20.52 seconds in the 200 meter dash, which was the fastest time of the meet and is also top five in the country.
 
Less than 24 hours after setting the school record in the women's 1,500 meter run, Sanae Hassnaoui (Midelt, Morocco) blazed to a time of 4.17.10 on Friday evening to break her own school record and came in second in the race. Anete Randma (Tallinn, Estonia) took fourth with a time of 4:32.90.

TEXAS RELAYS
The Lions started the day in Austin with a time of 45.35 seconds in the women's 4x100 meter relay, which was the 10th fastest time and just 0.21 seconds short of qualifying for finals. The men's 4x100 meter relay team also took 10th, timing 39.76 seconds, coming 0.28 seconds from qualifying.
 
Jeyden Coleman (Humble – Summer Creek) had a throw of 50-2.75 (15.31m) for ninth in the shot put. Fosuhene qualified for the finals with a time of 10.13 seconds in the men's 100 meter dash, which is top 10 in the country.  
 
In the women's discus, Romi Griese (Salzkotten, Germany) placed fourth with a throw of 167-7 (51.09m). Cheyne West (Rochester, England) finished ninth in the 400 meter hurdles finals with a time of 52.73 seconds.
 
Fosuhene is the lone Lion to compete at the Texas Relays on Saturday. He races in the 100 meter dash finals, which is set for 3:14 p.m. and the 200 meter dash at 3:45 p.m. Live results can be found HERE and the race can be watch on SEC Network+ HERE.
