Commerce, Texas – In search of their first 20-win season since 2004-05, the Lions at 19-6 overall welcome West Texas into the Field House Saturday at 6 p.m. for a Lone Star Conference game.
 
At half time, A&M-Commerce will honor the 1995 NAIA National Championship men's basketball team.

- The Lions have won four of their last five games including an 86-80 win over Eastern New Mexico in their last game ...
- Four of the six Lions losses have come when A&M-Commerce is outrebounded including the last three -- ASU, TSU and MSU.

- A&M-Commerce fell 104-101 at DBU in OT on November 24 ... The Lions were 50-of-65 from the free throw line ... Both were school records while the 50 makes tied the highest mark in the LSC ... LaDon Carnegie was 18-of-23 for school records in both.
- The Lions are fourth in the NCAA in defensive rebounds, fifth in free throw attempts, sixth in free throws made, ninth in total rebounds and 11th in field goal percentage defense.
-  Williams is ranked fourth in the NCAA in double-doubles with 16 ... Williams is also fifth in the NCAA in total rebounds, sixth in rebounds per game and ninth in defensive rebounds per game ... Anthony Adams is second in the LSC In assists at 4.2 
- A&M-Commerce had a LSC Player of the Week in each of the first four weeks of the season ... Darrell Williams has won one offensive POTW and two straight defensive POTW awards ... LaDon Carnegie was named offensive of POTW once ... Williams followed with his second offensive player of the week on January 12.
- The Lions are coached by Sam Walker ... Walker is in his 15th season with A&M-Commerce and is the school's all-time winningest coach with an overall of 245-178 ... He has complied a 101-92 record in LSC games.
 
A&M-Commerce vs. West Texas A&M:  The Series
- The Lions and Buffs have met 82 times prior to Saturday's game with West Texas A&M holding a 51-31 advantage in the series and a 26-15 lead in LSC games ... WT is the seventh most played opponent in program history.
- The Lions swept the two meetings in the 2013-14 season, 93-84 in Commerce and 83-82  in Canyon ... The wins snapped a six-game slide to WT ... The Lions won the first meeting this season 76-75 after struggling down the stretch with TOs.
- Under head coach Sam Walker the Lions are 9-17 against WT.
 
About the Buffs
-  West Texas A&M enters at16-10 overall and 6-6 in LSC games ... The Buffs are coming off of a loss to Tarleton State, 64-60 ...  WT had their three-game winning streak snapped in the loss.
- Four players average double figures led by David Chalovich at 15.9 points per game ... Tez Dumars follows with 15.3 points per game ... . Miles Gatewood follows at 14.7 points per game, while Antjuan Ball has scored 12.2 points per game ... Chavlovich has made 82 threes on the season.
