Lions to Open LSC Play Wednesday vs. Javelinas

Commerce, Texas -- The A&M-Commerce men's basketball team will open Lone Star Conference play Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. in The Field House with Texas A&M-Kingsville putting their seven game home winning streak and seven straight game winning streak to the test.

- A&M-Commerce enters the game at 10-2 and ridding a six-game winning streak after going 4-0 during a four-game home stand and finishing the 2015 calendar year off with a 94-80 road win at Henderson State ... The Lions returned to action with a 95-53 win over Central Christian College of the Bible to open 2016.
- The Lions defeated Southwestern College 111-60 marking the program's 10th 50-point margin of victory ... It was the 11th highest margin of victory in the NCAA DII on the season ... The last time A&M-Commerce won by 50 or more points was in 2005-06 when the Lions defeated Paul Quinn by 51 points, 104-53. The largest margin of victory for the Lions came in 1986-87 when then East Texas topped Southwestern Assemblies of God by 70 points, 128-58.

- Anthony Adams was named the LSC Offensive Player of the Week on January 16 highlighted by a 27-point game in the Lions 85-79 win over Harding on December 10..
- The Lions are third in the NCAA in defensive rebounds per game averaging 32.9 defensive rebounds per game ... They are second in the NCAA in rebounding margin at plus 11.5 per game ... They lead the LSC and are 28th in the NCAA in 3-point shooting percentage at 40.4 percent.
- The Lions had a record breaking 132-83 win over Huston-Tilloston ... The Lions set the school record for points in single-game in the win.
- White has a team-high three double-doubles, Bryant Crowder and Everrett Pleasant each have two double-doubles and Craig Fofang has one double-double... Pleasant's two double-doubles have come in the last three games.
- At 24-5 overall the Lions won 20 games for the first time since 2004-05 ... It's the second time under head coach Sam Walker and the 15th time in program history ... The Lions are currently receiving votes in the final regular season poll.
- A&M-Commerce is coached by Sam Walker in his 16th season at the helm of the Lions program ... Walker is the program's all-time leader in wins with 260.

A&M-Commerce vs. Kingsville:  The Series
- The Lions and Javelinas have met 117 times prior with the Lions leading the all-time series 66-51 including a 62-43 advantage in LSC games.
- Kingsville had reeled of wins in nine of the last 12 meetings ... However, A&M-Commerce has won the last three meetings including an 87-71 rout in the first meeting in 2014-15 in Kingsville and an 83-74 win in Commerce.
