Last season the Lions took game three in the series 10-6 at West Texas. The Buffs only lost six conference games in the 2015 season.
This season's match up will be led without many precursors with the exception of stats. The teams have not played many of the same teams other than Newman, St. Mary's and the Buff's recent face off against St. Edwards. There has not been a mutual Lone Star Conference match up between the teams yet.
