Commerce, TX – The Lions head to Canyon, TX for the Lone Star Conference Championship as the No. 4 seed and will take on No. 5 seed Angelo State.
 
The Lions played Angelo State just two weeks ago in their last conference series. Despite being ranked under the Rambelles the Lions took the series with three crucial wins. Angelo State is coming off of three wins against Cameron (the No. 2 seed in the LSC Championship) while the Lions had the week off.
 
In their last matchup, A&M-Commerce scored 12 runs on Angelo State and had three homers. Angelo State only scored six runs on the Lions. Selena Rima's ERA for the series was 0.93 and she had a whopping 17 strikeouts. Rima earned LSC Pitcher of the Week following her efforts.
 
The LSC tournament is single elimination, which puts the pressure on for both teams to stay alive in the tournament. The game will be at 1:30 p.m. and the winner will go on the play No.1 seed West Texas at 6:30 p.m.
 
The Lions and Rambelles are neck-and-neck by the numbers. The Lions come into the single game 36-16 and 18-14 in the LSC. The Rambelles tail with a record of 35-20 and 17—15 in the LSC.

Players to Watch
Selena Rima
Last week Rima was named LSC Pitcher of the Week after having a stellar weekend against Angelo State. Rima allowed just two runs in fifteen innings ended game four with a save. Rima is ranked third in the LSC for batters struck out at 121.
 
Luci Ponce
Ponce is a power hitter and tied for second in the LSC for home runs with 13. She is also third in RBI with 57 and known for brining her teammates through home plate.  
 
Johnna Sturm
Sturm has six homers including a walk of grand slam and 10 doubles. She also has 30 RBI in the 45 games she has played
