JJ Romer Rosario begins his professional basketball career with the Gigantes de Carolina of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional in Puerto Rico.
Romer Rosario (Hialeah Gardens, Fla.) played three seasons for the Lions including the 2021-22 NCAA Tournament team and played in the postseason in two of three seasons. In his Lion career, he played in 62 games and averaged seven points per game.
As a senior in 2022-23, he started 11 of the 33 games, scoring 8.7 points per game and 3.5 rebounds per game. Romer Rosario scored in double digits in 15 games, including career-best 25 against Northwestern State.
Thus far this season with the Gigantes, Romer Rosario has played in 21 games, averaging eight points per game and 2.6 rebounds per game. Against Cangrejeros de Santurce, he scored 14 points with four three-pointers made. Highlights from that game can be found below.
The BSN, which is part of the FIBA Americas confederations is a 12-team professional league in Puerto Rico. Teams play 44 games each, playing the other 11 teams in the league four times during the regular season. The Gigantes have 15 games left in the 2023 season.
