Kiara Brown competing in the 60 Meter Dash at the USA Track & Field Indoor National Championships this weekend in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Brown (Dallas – Carter), holds the fastest time in the Southland Conference and a school-record time of 7.30 seconds in the 60 meter dash. For the Lions, it is the second straight season that a student-athlete is competing at the National Championships. J.T. Smith is the reigning champion of the men's 60 meter dash.
There are 11 athletes slated to compete in the women's 60 meter dash. Brown's seed time of 7.30 seconds is 10
th.
The USATF Indoor Championships take place on Friday and Saturday at the Albuquerque Convention Center. The first round of the 60 meter dash is at 2:03 p.m. mountain time on Saturday, with the top eight qualifying for the finals at 3:47 p.m. mountain.
