FRISCO – East Texas A&M University track and field student-athlete
Jenneil Jacobie has been named the Southland Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week on Wednesday afternoon.
Jacobie (Piat Grande Riviere, Saint Lucia) won the invitational high jump at the Owen Hewett Invitational in Norman, Oklahoma. She cleared 5-10.75 (1.80m), which was just 0.01 meters shy of tying the school record. Her mark also leads the Southland, while being tied for 18th in the country.
This is the first weekly honor in her career for Jacobie. The Lions had nine student-athlete of the week awards last season.
The Lions are back in action at the Ted Nelson Invitational in College Station on Friday-Saturday.
