FRISCO – East Texas A&M University women's track and field jumper Jenniel Jacobie has been named the Southland Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week on Wednesday afternoon for the second time this season.
Jacobie (Piat Grand Rivière, Saint Lucia) won the Charlie Thomas Invitational with a mark of 6-1.5 (1.87m), which is a new school record as well as being the Southland Conference record. Her mark puts her top 10 in the country this season, while also being a qualifying mark for the Commonwealth Games.
The Lions have won a weekly honor from the Southland for the third week in a row, with Jacobie being the winner in two of three weeks.
