FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – A group of Texas A&M University-Commerce track & field distance runners competed at the Arkansas Twilight on Friday at the Randal Tyson Track Center, the final meet prior to the conference championships.
 
The Southland Conference Championships begin on Thursday at Rice.

Yosef Abdulrazeq (Mansfield Legacy) timed 10:09.86 for fourth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. Chris Flores (Rocksprings) clocked in at 1:56.78 in the 800 meter run for 40^th.
 
Four Lions competed in the 1,500 meter run. Nicholas Deutsch (Frisco) was 33^rd with a time of 3:59.01, Alex Speer (Robinson) timed 4:01.00 for 35^th, Casey Novelo (Bedford – Trinity) posted a time of 4:01.21 for 36^th, and Jeremiah Garcia (Northwest Eaton) was 39^th with a time of 4:02.72.
