MATHEWS, La. – East Texas A&M University
Janis Erll tied the course record at the LaTour Golf Club on Monday as the Lions hold a 12-stroke lead and Erll has a four-stroke lead after the first two rounds of LaTour Intercollegiate.
East Texas A&M held the lead atop the team leaderboard after both rounds on Monday. The Lions' team score of 548 (277-271) is 12 strokes better than Midland College, and 13 ahead of HCU.
Erll (Lich, Germany) shot a 62 in the second round to tie the course record at LaTour GC. His total score of 131 after two rounds is four strokes better than any other golfer in the field. HCU's Mason Napier is in second place.
Davis Seybert (Trinity Midland) is tied for fourth place with a score of 138 (69-69), while both
Cooper Watt (Rockford, Ill.) and
Nicke Kaajavirta (Kajaani, Finland) are tied for 10
th place with scores of 141 after the first two rounds.
Matt Walters (Ballito, South Africa) rounds out the Lions with a score of 144 (68-78), being tied for 23
rd place.
The Lions look to win their first team title in the Division I era and Erll looks to win the first individual medal for the program since 2022 on Tuesday in Mathews. The third round begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Live scoring can be found
