DALLAS – The East Texas A&M University women's golf team closed out the regular season with a 13
th place finish at the Veritex Bank Collegiate hosted this week at the Trinity Forest Golf Club.
The Lions posted a team score of 957 in three rounds to finish 13
th in the 14-team tournament. Houston, who is ranked No. 26 in the country, edged out Texas Tech by two strokes to win the team title, while the Cougars' Moa Svedenskiold, who is ranked No. 86 in the country, won the individual title, edging out Tulsa's Jennifer Roller in the tiebreaker.
"Most definitely not our week out at Trinity Forest," said director of golf
Brian Dolehide. "Hopefully these next few days bring our health back and we can learn from our mistakes going into conference."
Marie Baertz (Luxembourg) took 53
rd to lead the Lions with a score of 232 (78-77-77), both
Fahsai Inmee (Prachuap Khiri Khan, Thailand) and
Julianna Crow (Trinity School of Midland) tied for 69
th with a score of 242 each, while
Jordan Dusckas (Flower Mound Marcus) was 74
th with a score of 245 (84-79-82) and
Marie Naeher (Neuenbuerg, Germany) took 75
th with a score of 246 (80-83-83).

The Lions begin the Southland Conference Championships at Kissing Tree Golf Course in San Marcos on Monday.
