AUSTIN – East Texas A&M University men's golfer
Davis Seybert has added another accolade for his stellar 2025-26 season, being named an Academic All-American, as selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Wednesday morning.
Seybert (Trinity Midland) is selected to the first team in the at-large category, which is made up of men's fencing, golf, gymnastics, hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, volleyball, water polo, and wrestling. He was one of nine Division I men's golfers to earn Academic All-America honors.
He is the first Academic All-American in program history and third for East Texas A&M in the Division I era, while being the second this academic year, which is just the fifth time since 1972 that the university has had multiple Academic All-Americans in the same year. Seybert is the 25
th Academic All-American in school history and joins football student-athlete Koby-Sebasyen King as the second Academic All-American in 2025-26.
The Southland Conference Newcomer of the Year and a second team all-conference selection, Seybert finished in the top 20 in all nine tournaments he competed in as a Lion. He was also the first all-conference selection in the program's Division I era.
Seybert graduated with his degree in business administration this past spring. He was named to the President's List, Academic All-Southland, and the SLC Commissioner's Honor Roll. He is one of just
A business administration major, King totaled 113 tackles and 5.5 sacks last season. He is one of 17 honorees from FCS football this year to be named to the Academic All-America team.
Since joining the Southland in 2022, East Texas A&M has had three Academic All-Americans in the four academic years, while no other member school has had any Academic All-Americans during that time.
