Biography
Finished his A&M-Commerce career as the back-to-back National Champion in the decathlon, becoming the first A&M-Commerce track & field athlete to win back-to-back national titles since the school joined the NCAA and only the third athlete in school history to repeat as an individual track & field national champion... Finished his career as the school record holder in both the heptathlon and the decathlon and was the second Division II athlete in NCAA history to record more than 8,000 points in the decathlon and the first in 33 years... Was a two time national champion, a four-time All-America selection, a seven-time All-Region selection, a one-time All-Region Athlete of the Year, a three-time All-Conference Athlete of the Year, a four-time All-Conference selection, a National Scholar Athlete of the Year and a two-time Academic All-Conference selection... Competed in 27 meets and had 30 top-five finishes in his career, including nine first-place finishes.
2018 (Outdoor): NCAA Division II National Champion and First Team All-American in the decathlon... USTFCCCA All-South Central Region in the 110m hurdles and the decathlon... Also won the bronze medal in pole vault and placed sixth in the 60m hurdles and seventh in both the long jump and the shotput... Competed in six meets in the heptathlon events... Placed third in the heptathlon with a score of 5073 at the Boo Rogers Combined Events (12/9/2016), placing first in the shot put and pole vault... Set a season-best of 8.49 seconds in the 60m hurdles at the MSSU Lion Invitational (2/10)... Placed first in the heptathlon at the LSC Indoor Championships (2/18), earning All-Conference and All-Region honors... Set season-bests in the 60m (7.12), the pole vault (4.77m) and the shot put (14.91)... He placed first in the shot put, second in the 60m, the long jump and the pole vault and third in 60m hurdles... Advanced the the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships (3/9), placing fourth overall and earning First Team All-America honors...
