Lion Track & Field wins two events, sets a school record at LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Texas A&M University-Commerce track & field team won two events and set a school record on Friday at the LSU Twilight inside the Carl Maddox Field House.
 
The full results of the meet can be found HERE. The Lions now prepare for the Southland Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships, which are in Birmingham, Alabama, next Sunday-Monday.
 
MEN
Casey Novelo (Bedford – Trinity) was the winner in the one mile run with a time of 4:18.86. Nicholas Deutsch (Frisco) finished fifth with a time of 4:25.28. Alex Speer clocked in at 8:37.73 in the 3,000 meter run for fifth.
 
Enoch Fosuhene (Accra, Ghana) timed 6.96 seconds in the 60 meter dash for eighth and won the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.07 seconds. Jordan Johnson (Guateng, South Africa) finished seventh in the 60 meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 8.14 seconds, while Zayden Davis (Colorado Springs, Colo.) was eighth with a time of 8.25 seconds.
 
In the high jump, Tyke Owens (Lebanon Trail) cleared 6-7.50 (2.02m) for fourth, while Xak Edwards (Greenville) was seventh with a mark of 6-5.50 (1.97m). Patrick Brown Jr. (Fort Bend Travis) threw a new season best in the shot put for sixth, 43-3.25 (13.19m).
 
Nikita Strogalev (Kiev, Ukraine) placed fourth in the pole vault, clearing 15-1.5 (4.61m), which is his new season best. Chandler King (Hughes Springs) took fourth in the long jump with a mark of 23-1.25 (7.04m).
 
WOMEN
Anete Radma (Tallinn, Estonia) clocked in at 5:10.00 in the one mile run for sixth place. She shattered Brandi Stalder's school record of 5:21.09, which was set in 2017. Leah Pettis timed 7.56 seconds for eighth in the 60 meter dash. Oriana Gee (Cy-Fair) was third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 58.28 seconds.
 
In field events, Amaka Ezukanma (Fort Worth – Timber Creek) took third with a mark of 38-10.25 (11.84m) in the triple jump, while Dejah Fuller (Waxahachie Life) was fourth, jumping 38-6 (11.73m). Magdaline Campo (Haiti) cleared 5-4.5 (1-64m) for third in the high jump and Jenneil Jacobie (Piat Grande Riviere, Saint Lucia) was fourth with a mark of 5-2.5 (1.59m).
 
Tamara Susa (Novi Sad, Serbia) had a throw of 35-9.5 (10.91m) in the shot put for ninth place. Celeste Sela (Mont de Marsan, France) took second in the long jump with a mark of 18-7.25 (5.67m), while Oriana Gee (Cy-Fair) was fourth with a jump of 17-6.75 (5.35m).
