Lion Track & Field battles through weather-shortened Michael Johnson Invitational

WACO – In a weather-shortened final day of the Michael Johnson Invitational, the Texas A&M University-Commerce competed well on Saturday inside the Clyde Hart Classic Track & Field Stadium.

Due to forecasted inclement weather later in the day, the events were moved to a rolling schedule to try and beat the weather, but the meet went into a weather delay and was later called with one field event to go, and three races left on the track.

Full results of the meet can be found HERE.

"The Michael Johnson Invitational is always one of my favorite meets of the year. The hosts are fantastic, and the competition is the highest level you can get," said coach George Pincock. "A little disappointed that the weather didn't cooperate, but nonetheless excited to come here and do what we did."

"We had great performances yesterday and that bled over into today. All things considered with the weather conditions, I am happy with how we performed and look to learn from the adversity we faced, take that into next week, and the conference championship."

Emma Nix (White Oak) threw 102-3 (31.17m) for 17th in the javelin.
