PARIS – Texas A&M University-Commerce is ready to take center stage at the 2024 Olympics, which officially begin on Friday in Paris. The three Lion Olympians start their competitions next week.
Mariana Shostak is the first Lion to compete, as she will race in the mixed 4x400 meter relay next Friday for Team Ukraine, while Joseph Brown suits up for Team USA in the men's discus on August 5, and
Ibrahim Fuseini races for Team Ghana in the men's 4x100 relay on August 8.
The first round of the mixed 4x400 meter relay is slated for 12:10 p.m. central next Friday and the finals are set for 1:55 p.m. next Saturday. The three Olympians for the Lions are most for any school in the Southland Conference and more than all but 72 programs that compete at any division of the NCAA. A total of 250 NCAA colleges/universities are represented at the Paris Olympics.
