A LOOK AT THE LIONS
Last week in Houston, several Lions made their outdoor season debuts. Three school records were set by the Lions, all on the women's side. Anete Randma (Tallinn, Estonia) broke a 39-year old school record with a time of 4:42.90 in the 1,500 meter run, while Riley Roberts (Bullard) raced to a time of 10:43.52 in the 3,000 meter run, setting the school record. Romi Griese (Salzkotten, Germany) took third in the discus with a mark of 165-0 (50.31m), which is also a new school record.

For the Lions, 11 individuals and five relay teams are slated to participate in the Texas Relays, while the rest will compete in the Bobcat Invitational. In the women's 200 meter dash, both Savannah Harvey (Shawnee, Kan.) and Leah Pettis (McKinney North) are slated to compete in the 100 meter dash, the Lion women are also entered into the 4x100 meter relay and 4x400 meter relay teams. In field events, the Southland Conference indoor high jump champion Magdaline Campo (Montpellier, France) is expected to compete in the 'B' section of the high jump, while SLC indoor high jump silver medalist Veronika Kramarenko (Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine) is competing in the 'A' section.

On the men's side, Kingsley Ayebide (Sapele, Nigeria), Enoch Fosuhene (Accra, Ghana), and Tyke Owens (Lebanon Trail) are entered into the 100 meter dash. SLC indoor 60 meter dash and 200 meter dash champion Ibrahim Fuseini (Accra, Ghana) has been invited to run the 200 meter dash and Nicholas Deutsch (Frisco) is racing in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. The Lion relay teams in the 4x100 meter relay, 4x200 meter relay, and 4x400 meter relay are going to compete in Austin as well. Jonas Gran (Riehen, Switzerland) and Joshua Kommer (Balingen, Germany) are competing in the 'B' section of the javelin.
