Clarence Lynch was a three-time First Team All-Lone Star Conference selection for the Lions and led the team in scoring during his tenure. In his three seasons at ETSU, the Lions posted a 77-15 record, winning three LSC Championships and the school's first ever National Championship in 1954-55. Lynch was named a Second Team All-American during that season.
Lynch scored 1,346 points in his Lion career, including 580 for a 17.1 point-per-game average in the 1954-55 season. His marks of 18 free throws in a game, 228 free throws scored in a season and 293 free throws attempted in a season all remain school records.
After his time with the Lions, Lynch went on to be a basketball coach, eventually returning to Connors State Junior College in 1961, where he was named an All-American in 1951-52 as a freshman. He coached at Connors State for 33 years until his retirement in 1993.
