Glen Machan was an NAIA All-American in both 1976 and 1977 as a high jumper for the Lion track & field team. As a senior, he set the school indoor high jump record, clearing 6-feet- 7-inches. He won the individual conference championship in the high jump in 1977, clearing 6-feet 10.5-inches. He was an academic All-Conference selection in 1976 and 1977. He was the first Lion to ever clear the 7-foot mark in a competition.
